The Real-Time Internet Pharmacy (RTIP) Claim Submission System is now available for all submitters with Internet access. This new application was designed for pharmacy providers who submit single, non-compound pharmacy claims.Eligible RTIP Providers
Submitters who have Internet access may sign up to use the new (RTIP) Claim Submission System to submit pharmacy claims on the Medi-Cal Web site.Providers who currently submit pharmacy claims using Claims and Eligibility Real Time System (CERTS) software may instead choose to submit their claims using RTIP.
Submitters who are currently using the TelePoint (dial-up) system for Computer Media Claims (CMC), or who submit claims through a switch or a leased line, can sign up to start submitting pharmacy claims on the Internet.
RTIP Access
To submit RTIP claim transactions on the Medi-Cal Web site, submitters must have:1. A Medi-Cal Point of Service (POS) Network/Internet Agreement form on file with the Department of Health Care Services for each provider number that is used to bill. For those submitters with valid forms currently on file, no additional updates are needed. Mail completed agreement forms to:
ACS, A Xerox Company
Attn: POS Help Desk
820 Stillwater Road
West Sacramento, CA 95605
2. A valid CMC Submitter ID and password with RTIP access. To obtain or update a valid CMC Submitter ID and password for RTIP access, fill out the Medi-Cal Telecommunications Provider and Biller Application/Agreement. Put a check mark in the “Internet” box under “Real Time Submission Type” and a check mark in the “Pharmacy” box under “NCPDP Version” with a version of “5.1”. Submitters with a current, valid CMC ID still need to submit the form to add the RTIP application to their list of available options on the web. Please check only the boxes on this agreement that you intend to use.
Features of RTIP:
- Submit single, non-compound pharmacy claims to Medi-Cal, and receive a response immediately.
- Override Drug Use Review Alerts before or after submitting a claim.
